Roosevelt Junior High is housed within the Roosevelt High School building, which was built in 1937. Several improvements have been made to the building in recent years.

An upgrade to equipment in 2001 allows the school to offer students the latest technology. With two computer labs and computers in every classroom, students have access to more than 100 personal computers.

Extracurricular activities offered at the school include band and sports, such as basketball, football, baseball and track.

Two programs encourage academic excellence. ZAP -- Zeros Aren't Permitted -- encourages students to complete their assignments in a timely fashion. The Eagles of Excellence program rewards students for academic achievements and good behavior. Special events sponsored by the school include cookouts and dances.
